Tecnoreef
modules are made from reinforced concrete. They
are constructed using only natural
components and do not contain synthetic additives.
They may be assembled in a variety of combinations
to create stable artificial reef structures on
sea or lake beds.The basic Tecnoreef
system consists of three interconnected modules
that create a remarkably strong and stable small
pyramidal structure.

With lairs,
holes and crevices at differing depths,
escape routes for prey, and a combination
of light and shadow, an assembly of Tecnoreef
modules permits the development of a complex
system. This creates a colony for aquatic
life in marine or lake environments which
have very few natural crevices or which
are otherwise sparsely populated.This revitalises
excessively exploited ecosystems
and allows the repopulation of areas which
have been deemed in need of such measures
by research institutes.

The open structure
of the Tecnoreef
module allows the wave to enter within,
where a large amount of turbulence is generated,
substantially reducing
the force of the wave. The result is a stable
and durable sea bed.

The Tecnoreef
system was invented to safeguard the marine
environment from all of its enemies including
drag-net
poaching. The modular Tecnoreef structure
offers excellent shelter from this type
of fishing. Drag-nets can only be used profitably
on sea beds with no rocks; in areas which
are frequently subjected to dragnet poaching,
Tecnoreef is a highly
effective deterrent and causes no
problems to normal navigation.

Tecnoreef

weight, constitutes an excellent
permanent anchoring system. Traditional
anchoring systems are frequently dragged
along the seabed when the vessels anchored
to them are pushed by wind and surf. This
movement
has a devastating effect on the flora and
fauna living on the sea floor.
